Our Team

Kelly Vermeeren-Smith, LCSW

I am the owner of KGS and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialty in Applied Behavior Analysis — which basically means I’ve spent a lot of time studying why we do what we do and how to help people make real, lasting changes in their lives. But let’s be honest: therapy can feel a little awkward at first. That’s why my first goal in any session is to help you feel totally at ease — like you can kick off your shoes (literally or figuratively) and just be yourself. No pressure, no judgment, and definitely no weird therapy voices.

My approach

I take a person-centered approach, which is a fancy way of saying: you lead, I follow with support. You know yourself better than anyone else — I’m just here to help you sort through the noise, ask the right questions, and shine a light on the stuff that might be getting in your way. Whether you’re tackling stress, relationships, behavior patterns, or just trying to figure out why everything feels like a lot, we’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you.

And hey, if we can laugh a little along the way? Even better. Therapy doesn’t have to be all tissues and deep sighs — sometimes it’s breakthroughs, “aha” moments, and the occasional, “Wow, I never thought of it like that.”

So if you’re ready to feel more confident, supported, and in charge of your own story, I’m here for it. Let’s get to work — together.

A little about me

When I’m not in session, you can probably find me outside — hiking, kayaking, swimming, or just enjoying the fresh air (because yes, I fully believe nature is a legit coping skill). I’m also a big fan of all things crafty — whether it’s painting, DIY projects, or just making something with my hands, I love getting creative and finding calm in the mess.

And let’s not forget the real MVPs… animals. I’m a total animal lover — especially dogs. I will 100% beg you to bring your pup to session if that’s even remotely an option. Therapy dogs? Amazing. Your dog sleeping in the corner? Still 10/10.

Whether we’re talking through life’s big stuff or sharing a laugh over the little things, I believe therapy works best when you can show up as your full, authentic self — pets, hobbies, and all.

Our Team

Deanna Warren, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a specialized background in supporting individuals navigating trauma and a range of life stressors. When I refer to trauma, I mean any experience—whether a specific event or ongoing situation—that has left a lasting impact, such as distressing memories, changes in behavior, or shifts in how we view ourselves and the world.

Therapy should not feel like a chore. My goal is to create a space you can look forward to—a space that meets you where you are and supports whatever you need in the moment. And if it ever feels difficult to be here, that’s okay too. We’ll work together to make this a space that feels safe, comfortable, and uniquely yours.

My Approach

A quote that reflects the spirit of my therapy space is: “I am a lighthouse rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead help others find their way to shore.”  This captures how I approach therapy—I’m not here to take over, but to guide, support, and empower you on your path.  I view therapy as something deeply personal—ultimately, it's a “you thing.” This perspective aligns with the principles of person-centered therapy, where your experiences, goals, and voice are at the heart of our work together. I’m honored to walk alongside you on this journey, meeting you exactly where you are. We’re stepping up to the starting line together.  The space we create is flexible and entirely yours. Whether you need a lighthearted conversation or a deep dive into life’s complexities, both are welcome. This is your story to tell, and I’m here to offer support, reflection, and sometimes ask the questions that help uncover new perspectives.

A little about me

Talking about myself has never come easy—so I asked a few close friends to describe me. Here’s what they shared:

“Deanna is a rare kind of woman—extremely kind, endlessly compassionate, and grounded in a strength so powerful, it helps you feel safe in your own light.”

“Deanna is the person to show up for you, support you in your goals, and be authentic even when its hard”
“She’s kind-hearted, funny, and accepting—a true source of emotional support.”
“Deanna is a bookworm, always up for trying something new, and a cat mom first and foremost.”

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll most likely find me at home with my fur babies, reading a good book, baking, or spending quality time with the people who fuel my soul. I also have a deep appreciation for a good nap now and then! I enjoy life’s simple pleasures, but I also find beauty and meaning in life’s messier, more chaotic moments.

One of the qualities I’m most proud of is my caring nature. I wear my heart on my sleeve and genuinely feel joy in bringing a smile to someone’s face, sharing a laugh, or offering a helping hand. Supporting others is not just what I do—it’s who I am.

Our Team

Nina Ankney, LSW

Hey there! I’m a licensed social worker with 8 years of experience helping folks untangle life’s messy stuff—things like anxiety, depression, tricky relationships, and that pesky little voice that messes with your self-esteem. Think of my office (virtual room) as your judgment-free zone—like a cozy couch where you can vent, laugh, cry, or just breathe. I’m here to help you feel heard, understood, and ready to tackle life head-on.

My Approach

I use a down-to-earth, cognitive behavioral approach—clever way of saying  "let’s spot those unhelpful thought loops and kick ‘em to the curb." Together, we’ll build practical tools to help you feel more confident, calm, and back in the driver’s seat of your life. Whether you're just stressed from work, life in general or unpacking some deeper emotional baggage, I’ve got your back. Let’s get to work (and maybe even laugh a little along the way).

A little about me

I’m a proud boy mom, which means most of my days are spent chasing after my two little guys. I’ve fully embraced the world of dirt, monster trucks, and nonstop energy! When I’m not in “mom mode,” you’ll probably find me in the kitchen cooking up something new, checking out local breweries, or cheering on a hockey game.

I’m also a total plant lover—there’s nothing more relaxing to me than digging in the dirt, planting flowers, or finding the perfect spot for a new houseplant.

I try not to take life too seriously—laughing through the chaos is my kind of therapy. Helping people feel comfortable and embrace their true selves is something I’m really passionate about!

Our Team

Nichole Duden, LSW

Hi, I’m Nichole, LSW and LCSW candidate — a passionate and dedicated Licensed Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s toughest moments. My clinical background spans crisis intervention, elementary behavioral health, and inpatient therapy, and I’ve had the honor of walking alongside clients of all ages as they navigate challenges and seek healing.

My Approach

At the core of my practice is a deep belief in the power of connection. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can express yourself freely and feel truly heard. My approach is rooted in active listening and genuine empathy, allowing me to tailor each session to meet your unique needs.

I’m trained in a range of therapeutic modalities including CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Play Therapy, and Trauma-Focused approaches. Whether you’re a child, teen, or adult facing transitions, emotional struggles, or just trying to make sense of life, I’m here to help guide you with compassion and authenticity.

A little about me

Outside the office, I’m a mom who loves cheering at the softball field, kayaking, and enjoying live music. I find peace in nature and believe deeply in its healing power—for both body and mind. I’m also an animal lover and offer walk-and-talk sessions or the option to bring your dog to therapy, because sometimes the comfort of a furry friend makes all the difference.

Working with me feels like connecting with someone who truly gets it. I’m here to support, empower, and walk with you on your journey.
